Community Gardens

Two community gardens are operated collectively by their participant gardeners in collaboration with Corcoran Neighborhood Organization:

  • Corcoran Community Garden is located at 3301 24th Avenue South, which is in the front yard of CenturyLink data center.
  • Milly’s Peace Garden is located at at 2017 East 38th Street, which is in the front yard of PRG, Inc.

CNO holds leases with the respective property owners of these community garden locations.

VISION STATEMENT: Community gardens are places for people in our community to connect with their neighbors and with the food they eat through a shared, common gardening space. We will work toward this vision by developing fun, creative and meaningful gardening experiences and activities that aim to educate people about the gardening process and encourage positive, community relationships.

Applications are now open for plots at Corcoran’s two community gardens!

Garden plots range from 4’x12’ to 10’x12’ in size, and several accessible raised bed plots are available at the Corcoran Community Garden. Cost for plots varies from $35-$60 for the year, depending on plot size. Scholarships are available for those with financial need. Check out the updates below from our garden coordinators!

Corcoran Community Garden (3301 24th Avenue South)

Hello Spring! Welcome back, we’ve missed you so! I don’t know about everyone else but I’m ready to start digging in the dirt! We are introducing some new plot sizes this season at the Corcoran Community Garden, and are excited to see the Healthy Bees Healthy Lives Pollinator Patch come back to life! The projected date for gardeners orientation will be decided closer to spring. See you around the garden!

Milly’s Peace Garden (2017 East 38th Street)

With the arrival of spring, it’s time to think about gardening! Milly’s Peace Garden is starting its seventh year. We are the smaller of the two community gardens, with just eight plots. Two plots are open this year.  It’s a great group of gardeners, including an herbalist who grows medicinal plants that the pollinators love. We look forward to having a couple of new folks join us for the 2019 growing season!
